Adopt A Soldier

Care Package Project

2019-2020

In support of the Kentucky National Guard 206th Engineer Battalion,  Owensboro, Kentucky, classrooms, clubs, and organizations from the Daviess County Public Schools are participating in the Adopt A Soldier Care Package Project during the 2019-2020 school year.

Individual classrooms, groups, clubs, etc. have adopted a soldier and will prepare two care packages over the course of the year.   This project is a unique opportunity to get to know each soldier individually with each care package personalized and tailor fit based on varying needs.

Spring 2020, the Return Ceremony will be held at the National Guard Armory and the public is invited to attend.  In addition, each Adopted Soldier will have the opportunity to visit their school and classroom to meet the students in person who have connected with them throughout the year.
